SpecificationsThese specifications allow you to compare the different versions of PhileSplitter. The letters EC refer to EclipseCabinet, which is the built-in compressor. When the built-in compression is used many of the limits are not as high. You can always use a third party compressor to get around this problem.
Note 1: CD spanning support requires drive letter write access to the CD-RW. This can be provided with 3rd party software such as DirectCD. CDs should be formatted and as a precaution you are recommended to tick the use free space (as in note 2). If you are intending to split pieces across DVDs, remember you will need the large fragment patch to create larger pieces that fully utilize the available space. Note 2: Zip disk support requires disks that are already formatted, and you must also select the tickbox to use free space instead of total space when selecting the destination folder. Note 3: 32 GB piece size support requires the large fragment patch. Without this patch the maximum size is 4 GB. In addition, the maximum size with EC is 1 GB. Note 4: Maximum input size is at least 2 GB, though some customers have successfully split files up to 30 GB in size. Please try the trial version with large fragment patch to determine whether the software meets your needs. |
